Conscientious Objectors Day - Courage and Conscience

At 5pm-6pm there will be a vigil in Barkers Pool, city centre to mark the role, influence and work of wartime conscientious objectors. Bring banners, candles etc. From 6.30pm (7pm start) there will be readings and music at Quaker Meeting House, 10 St. James Street. Poems, songs and stories by local people from around Yorkshire and North Derbyshire about their family members and others who have refused to fight. All welcome. Tea/coffee served from 6.30 pm. Retiring collection.Organised by the Women's International League for Peace & Freedom (Sheffield) and the Sheffield Quaker Peace Group.
