Protest: Shut Down Morton Hall Immigration Detention Centre

Join Sheffield and Leeds Student Action for Refugees groups, South Yorkshire Migration and Asylum Action Group (SYMAAG) and These Walls Must Fall supporters on a national, noisy protest at Morton Hall Immigration Detention Centre, Morton Hall Village, Swinderby, Lincolnshire.Morton Hall is run by the Prison Service for the Home Office and can detain 392 people. Several people have died there in recent years, and detainees have been on hunger strike. The Prisons Inspectors reported on Morton Hall: "Nearly half the detainees told the inspectors they felt depressed or suicidal on arriving". Coach transport is being arranged by Sheffield Student Action for Refugees, and SYMAAG. To from Sheffield: Coaches leave from Bar One, Glossop Road (Sheffield University Students Union) at 10am, and then leaving Sheffield Hallam Students Union (near station) at 10.15am.
