"Asylum - the basics" training session

Sheffield charity ASSIST works with refused asylum seekers, and offers training and background information on the asylum system for those who work with asylum seekers and refugees. This training is available to all, current volunteers and external individuals or organisations. It covers asylum law, the process of claiming asylum, Section 4 and Section 95 asylum support and dispersal, how asylum decisions are made, 'End of Process' for asylum claims, permission to work, appeals, and leaving asylum support. NOTE that this course is in two sessions. Part 2 will be at the same time on Wednesday 16 September.The sessions are delivered by a team of ASSIST volunteers. Places are limited, so you are advised to book your place as soon as possible. Cost £60 per person including refreshments and information pack (free for ASSIST volunteers).
